Leigh and Atherton MP – Jo Platt – has chaired the first APPG meeting for ADHD.

This All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) will meet to discuss Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in the UK Parliament.

The APPG for ADHD is a cross-party group of Members of Parliament (MPs) and members of the House of Lords who come together to:

  • Raise awareness of ADHD among policymakers and the public.

  • Promote better understanding and support for people with ADHD.

  • Influence policy and improve services across health, education, criminal justice, and employment sectors.

Other activities will include:

  • Hosting meetings, discussions, and events with experts, advocacy groups, and individuals with lived experience.

  • Publishing reports and recommendations.

  • Campaigning for improved diagnosis times, treatment options, and post-diagnostic support.

Jo Platt, MP for Leigh and Atherton, said: “Today, we launched the new APPG on ADHD, with a brilliant discussion on priorities and action for the group. I am so pleased to be chairing this again.”
