Leigh and Atherton MP – Jo Platt – is proud to be one of over 100 Labour MPs launching the Living Standards Coalition. This is a bold new effort to answer a simple but vital question: is life getting better for the people we represent?

Jo – along with a number of other Labour MPs – are calling on the Government to think bigger and act bolder on the everyday pressures facing families, from food and energy to childcare and housing.

Jo Platt said: “This coalition spans every region and nation of the UK, united by one focus to raise living standards. That’s where real change begins.

“We’re putting forward practical, forward-thinking solutions that are progressive, growth enhancing and fiscally neutral.

“Improving people’s day-to-day lives is how we rebuild trust. That’s why I’m committed to working with the Government in the spirit of Labour values – practical, fair, and focused on delivering better lives, particularly for the people of Leigh and Atherton.”
