Leigh and Atherton MP met up with volunteers from Atherton & Leigh Foodbank. The group were in Westminster for the “Guarantee our Essentials” campaign day in Parliament.
The “Guarantee Our Essentials campaign” is calling on the UK government to make sure that the basic rate of Universal Credit at least covers life’s essentials – like food, household bills and travel.
