Leigh and Atherton MP – Jo Platt -visited the picket line at Alpla in Golborne on Monday.
Over 150 members of Unite North West stood together after facing threats of dismissal if they refuse to accept longer hours and major changes to their shift patterns.
Jo Platt said: “I want to thank the Golborne and Lowton West Councillors for joining me in standing in solidarity with the workers taking strike action.
“Situations like this show why Labour’s Employment Rights Bill is so important. It will put an end to fire and rehire, give working people stronger protections, and help ensure fair treatment at work.
“I want to thank everyone who spoke to me on the picket line. Your strength and unity is powerful, and I’ll continue to support your fight for fairness.”
