The BRIT Awards are moving from London to Manchester for 2026 and 2027.
For the first time in its history, The BRIT Awards will leave the capital and make its way north, taking place in Manchester’s Co-op Live in 2026 and 2027. This marks a bold new chapter for the legendary event, after nearly five decades in London.
Jo Platt MP, who is an advocate for the creative industries, said: “The BRIT Awards moving from London to Manchester for 2026 and 2027 is truly exciting.
“This city has shaped music history, giving us some of the most legendary artists of all time – I am so pleased it is getting the recognition it deserves.
“I’ve had countless conversations with musicians about the divide between north and south, and this move is a crucial step in making the industry more inclusive and accessible.
“Huge thanks to BPI for recognising and reinvesting in Greater Manchester as the powerhouse of British creativity, I can’t wait to celebrate the amazing talent here!”
