It’s Volunteers’ Week – an annual UK-wide campaign held from the first Monday in June to celebrate and recognise the contributions of volunteers – and Leigh and Atherton MP – Jo Platt – has used this as an opportunity to acknowledge and thank the volunteers that do so much for our community.
Jo Platt said: “I’m constantly astounded by the dedication and passion of the volunteers I meet across the Leigh and Atherton constituency. They do such incredible work in supporting their local communities, instilling pride and helping others prosper.
“This week is Volunteers Week – which is an opportunity to celebrate the invaluable work being done by volunteers across Leigh, Atherton, Tyldesley, Lowton and Golborne.”
Launched in 1984, Volunteers’ Week has been running for over 40 years, providing organisations and communities a platform to thank current and past volunteers for their invaluable efforts.
The Volunteers’ Week campaign highlights the diversity and unity of volunteer work across the UK.
