The Golborne Carnival returned in style this weekend, drawing large crowds with a full day of entertainment, family activities and community spirit. Local MP Jo Platt was among those in attendance, praising the efforts of local organisers and councillors.
Held in the heart of Golborne, the carnival featured Silcock’s Funfair, crazy golf, free craft stalls, face painting and over 30 vendors. Children were especially thrilled with Murphy’s digger and the hands-on activities provided throughout the day.
Entertainment on stage included performances by Mr Tumble, the Golborne Brass Band, and local acts like Unauthorised Personnel and Dr Beat’s Disco. There was also the crowning of the May Queen.
“I went to the Golborne Carnival today – an amazing community event run with heart and energy by the local community, including the fab Golborne and Lowton West Councillors: Yvonne, Susan and Gena,” said Jo Platt. “I loved seeing the stalls and catching up with residents.”
Other carnival highlights included a school scarecrow competition, a raffle, and a hog roast provided by The Millstone Pub – alongside numerous other food and drink vendors.
