Jo Platt attended an event in Parliament today, addressing the challenges facing the cold chain network. She was invited to the event by Magnavale – a Golborne-based company that provides cold storage.

The cold chain is the network of specialist buildings, vehicles, shipping containers and other infrastructure which ensure perishable goods are kept in a safe and secure chilled or frozen temperature-controlled environment as they pass from production to the point of usage or consumption. This network safeguards the quality and safety of food, medicine, and countless other products that underpin our daily lives.

Leigh and Atherton MP – Jo Platt – said: “I attended a meeting with local business Magnavale from Golborne – to discuss the recent investment in our constituency – as well as the challenges facing the cold chain industry.

“We are honoured to have such an amazing facility in our constituency and I am looking forward to meeting them on site soon, to learn more about what they do.”
