LINK banking hubs.

Banks have been leaving our highstreets over recent years, meaning that accessing cash is an issue. Since being elected, Jo Platt – the MP for Leigh and Atherton – has been pushing for LINK banking hubs to be brought to Atherton and Golborne, to give local residents and businesses better access to cash.

Jo Platt said: “In recent years we’ve seen banks leave our town centres in droves. I know that accessing cash is an issue for some – especially those living in Atherton and Golborne, so I’ve been pushing for LINK banking hubs in those areas.

“I’ve also written to government to request that the eligibility criteria for access to cash assessments is reviewed, to better reflect the needs of our local communities.

“We’ve yet to get the commitment we’re after, but I’ll continue to fight for better access where it’s needed and work to preserve the access we have elsewhere in the constituency.”
