Across Leigh and Atherton and the nation, people are taking part in the national celebrations of the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day.
Ahead of the celebrations, members of the community have come together to make celebratory bunting, which is now on display outside Jo Platt’s constituency office.
Jo Platt said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to the families, staff and volunteers at A Team Hub, The HUB CIC, Unity & Belonging CIC, Compassion in Action, Leigh Library, ABC Castle Nursery and Little Rainbows 1 & 2 that have created this beautiful bunting. I have proudly put it out on display outside my constituency office.
“We owe a debt of gratitude to all those who are prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice for our country and I am looking forward to marking the 80th anniversary of VE Day over the coming week.”
