Jo Platt – MP for Leigh and Atherton – is encouraging local schools to register for a free visit to UK Parliament.

Schools can now register to visit UK Parliament during the autumn term (between September and December), in advance of bookings opening.

Jo Platt said: “Many schools within my constituency have already been down to visit UK Parliament – with Atherton High and Hindsford Primary both visiting recently.

“It would be great to see more schools signing up to visit, because the feedback after these visits has been overwhelmingly positive. Students tend to get a lot out of these trips”

A school visit to UK Parliament will include:
• A guided tour of the Palace of Westminster.
• A curricula-informed workshop in the award-winning Education Centre.
• A question and answer session with Jo, a member of her office team or member of the House of Lords. This depends on the business of the House that day and availability.
• Help with travel costs (eligibility criteria applies).
