Today, in the Chamber, Jo Platt – the MP for Leigh and Atherton – spoke out about the important issue of shifting care into the community, whilst highlighting the phenomenal work taking place in her constituency at Compassion in Action.

Compassion in Action provides non-clinical, whole-person care to the Leigh and Atherton community and is supported by key partners – including Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council, Andy Burnham – Mayor of Greater Manchester, the Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS FT, the Greater Manchester Police, local business leaders and a variety of third sector organisations.

During the interaction, Wes Streeting MP (Secretary of State for Health and Social Care) also confirmed that a member of his team will coming to visit the charity in Leigh very soon.
