Local MP Jo Platt dropped into This Van Can today – a mobile bowel cancer awareness outreach unit, which is currently pitched up at Tesco in Leigh.
Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance launched the This Van Can initiative, which will be touring Greater Manchester to raise awareness about the signs and symptoms of bowel cancer.
Professionals within the bus are advising members of the public on the signs and symptoms of bowel cancer. They are also explaining why it’s important to catch it early, what bowel screening is, and how you can complete an at-home bowel screening test.
Jo Platt said: “It’s so important people know the signs and symptoms of bowel cancer, and the team is doing amazing work explaining how easy it is to complete the at-home screening test, as well as explaining when people should seek help.”
This Van Can will be at Tesco’s in Leigh until Friday 25 April, 2025.
