A team from Buildings 2 Clean Ltd has revitalised the Cenotaph war memorial in Leigh.

With VE Day fast approaching, the team undertook the essential task of steam cleaning the monument’s stonework. The monument has now been restored to its rightful condition, honouring the fallen heroes who fought for the freedoms we cherish today.

The Buildings 2 Clean Ltd team performed a thorough steam clean to remove all algae and dirt. They also cleared pigeon guano from the monument and installed discreet optical gel pots to prevent pigeons from roosting. These measures ensure the monument remains pristine for years to come, without the unsightly appearance of pigeon spikes.

A spokesperson from Buildings 2 Clean Ltd said: “We would like to thank Darren from Regency Glass Ltd, as well as the local council, for their assistance in organising this clean.”

Local MP Jo Platt added: “I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone involved. It is wonderful to see businesses collaborating for the benefit of our community.

“I am delighted that the Cenotaph will look its best for this year’s VE Day celebrations.”
