Over the next 10 weeks, I’ll be playing an active role in Parliament as part of the Public Bill Committee, closely scrutinising the Crime and Policing Bill, line by line, two days a week.
This important piece of UK legislation will include measures aimed at addressing knife crime, violence against women and girls, anti-social behaviour, retail crime, serious and organised crime, fraud, theft, public order, terrorism, sexual offending, and much more.
The bill aims to make our communities safer and strengthen public confidence in policing by equipping the police with more powers to respond quickly to criminal activity.
