Leigh and Atherton MP – Jo Platt – met with Pam Gilligan at Compassion in Action in Leigh today, to discuss the work being done by the charity.

For the past 18 years, Compassion in Action has met the needs of people in crisis with the provision of furniture, clothes, accommodation, skills training, education and advocacy. The group takes a whole-person approach to care – helping people to live independently.

The visit follows Compassion in Action being named ‘Charity Business of the Year’ at the 2024 Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce Excellence Awards.

Jo Platt said: “It was great to catch up with Pam and the team – and to congratulate them on Compassion in Action’s inclusion in the Commonwealth book and on being named ‘Charity Business of the Year’ by the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce.”
