Jo Platt MP for Leigh and Atherton

This week, Leigh and Atherton MP – Jo Platt – joined the Mayor of Greater Manchester – Andy Burnham – for the launch of the Bee Network’s new Tap and Go scheme!
Under this exciting new initiative passengers can hop from a Metrolink tram to a Bee Network bus and only pay one fare at the end of the day – much like in London.
Jo Platt said: “This exciting new initiative will transform the travel experience for passengers, allowing seamless journeys on buses and trams with a capped price.
“This is a major step forward for Greater Manchester’s transport system – let’s keep it up!”
By using ‘Tap and Go’ residents can get unlimited tram and bus travel anywhere in Greater Manchester and they will never pay more than £9.50 per day (£7.80 during off-peak times), or £41 per week.
Jo added: “The meeting was also an ideal opportunity for me to speak to Andy about the additional bus services and routes sorely needed across Leigh and Atherton.”
