Jo Platt – the MP for Leigh and Atherton – attended an Irish in Britain event in Parliament today, to mark St Patrick’s Day.
Irish in Britain is a charity and national membership network founded in 1973 for Irish community groups throughout Britain. The group does work around improving health outcomes, undertaking research on issues linked to the Irish community in Britain and policy advocacy – including efforts to get Philomena’s Law on the statute books.
Jo Platt said: “As someone of Irish descent, today holds a special place in my heart. I’m sending warm wishes to my amazing family and all those celebrating, near and far.
“Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Daoibh!”
