Standing Together Against Domestic Abuse - Jo Platt attends event.

Leigh and Atherton MP – Jo Platt – attended a Standing Together Against Domestic Abuse (STADA) event in Parliament today. The event highlight the critical role of the NHS in tackling domestic abuse.

STADA is a UK charity that is dedicated to preventing domestic abuse and supporting victims and survivors through partnerships with healthcare and other public services

Jo Platt said: “I attended a Standing Together Against Domestic Abuse session to discuss what the NHS can do to support survivors of domestic abuse.

“The NHS will be key in helping this Government to reach its target of reducing violence against women and girls by half by 2030.”

Domestic abuse costs the NHS billions annually, but early intervention can save lives and public funds.

With the Government committed to halving violence against women and girls by 2030, the event is to explored how healthcare, policymakers and public services can collaborate to tackle domestic abuse.
