Jo Platt MP for Leigh and Atherton

Labour has announced 85,366 extra urgent dental appointments for the North West, making it easier for residents in Leigh and Atherton to access dental care.
Under the Conservatives, around one in four people couldn’t access an NHS dentist over a two year period. But this Labour Government has delivered on its manifesto commitment to roll out extra urgent appointments across the country. A total of 700,000 extra urgent appointments have been rolled out across the UK – 85,366 of those will be available to North West residents specifically.
Leigh and Atherton MP Jo Platt said: “The people of Leigh and Atherton are well aware of the NHS dentistry challenges after years of Tory mismanagement.
“Through Labour’s Plan for Change we’ll rebuild dentistry, by focusing on prevention, retention of NHS dentists, and reforming NHS contracts. It will take time, but today is a vital step toward revitalising NHS dentistry.”
