Jo Platt MP was out on her weekly doorknock with local Councillors in Leigh South, when she happened to meet local residents impacted by FirstPort – one of the companies that are charging excessive house management fees.
After residents wrote to Jo Platt, raising the issue of unfair house management fees, the Leigh and Atherton MP took action.
A few weeks ago, Jo Platt met with FirstPort bosses to address unfair management fees, and then she co-signed a letter to the company’s Managing Director, detailing the actions that had been collectively agreed.
Jo Platt said: “It’s always great to be out on the doors, meeting local people.
“Today, I also had the chance to meet with residents impacted by FirstPort. They are understandably frustrated by the way they’ve been treated and they appreciated that we’re standing with them.
“We’re out in the community all year round, not just at election time. Talking to residents and listening to their concerns, making sure your voices are always heard.”
