Jo Platt – the Leigh and Atherton MP – was out on Bradshawgate this afternoon, chatting to workers and businesses people.
The local MP was keen to hear about about how things are looking – and to find out about any recent anti-social behaviour.
Jo Platt said: “I think it’s important to talk to businesses and workers that are on the highstreet every day, as they truly know what is happening right now, in the our town centre.
“Cleaning up the highstreet – and ensuring that town centres like Leigh and Atherton – get the investment they deserve was at the top of my list of pledges when I was elected.
“I’m not happy that anti-social behaviour continues to be an issue on the highstreet, but I am committed to ensuring that things improve.”
After her town centre walk around, Jo spoke to Wigan Council and GMP about the ongoing antisocial behaviour and the condition of the town centre. She expressed her frustration that this continues to be an issue and was reassured that action is being taken to improve things.
