Jo Platt spoke at the Carry On Touring Summit in parliament today, to show her support of touring creatives and artists.
The Carry On Touring campaign is focused on raising awareness of the difficulties that touring creatives face in the wake of Brexit.
During the event, Jo emphasised the benefits that creatives are able to experience by touring across Europe, and explained how it can create new opportunities and growth.
Jo Platt said: “As a member of Culture, Media and Sport Committee and a keen supporter of the creative and music industry, I felt that it was important to speak at the Carry On Touring event today.
“During the summit, we also heard from musicians, creatives and those on the frontline – who rely on touring to make a living – about the challenges they face and its impact on their ability to work freely.”
The Carry On Touring campaign represents ‘frontline’ UK creatives – not just musicians – but all those who work across the touring, cultural and creative industries sector.
