This evening, Jo Platt – the MP for Leigh and Atherton – visited the Music Venue Trust’s Annual Report launch in Parliament this evening.

The Music Venue Trust (MVT) is a UK charity, which was created in 2014, acts to protect, secure and improve venues such as Brudenell Social Club, The Key Club, and Lending Room.

During the event, Jo was given the latest facts and figures about Grassroots Music Venues, the challenges they face and the actions needed to keep these vital spaces for artists to develop and connect with audiences, thriving.

Jo Platt said: “It was great to meet with the Music Venues Trust. It’s important to support grassroots music venues and MVT works hard to gain recognition of the essential roles these venues fulfil, not only for artist development, but also for the cultural and music industries, the economy and local communities such as Leigh and Atherton.”
