Jo Platt MP for Leigh and Atherton

Local MP Jo Platt visited Richmond House Care Home in Leigh, to meet residents, to enjoy tea and cake, and learn more about the residential home’s services.
The care home specialises in care for older people, stroke rehabilitation and respite care. It is part of HC-One – Britain’s largest care home provider – which has 300 homes and cares for 15,000 residents living with increasingly complex needs including dementia and frailty.
The team at Richmond House Care Home wanted to chat to Jo about the health and social care issue they face, which range from NHS-waiting-list challenges, social care in need of urgent reform, and a limited workforce.
Jo Platt said: “It was great to meet the team at Richmond House Care Home, to hear about the challenges they are facing, and the ways that this new government can support them going forward,
“During the visit, I got to see – first-hand – how residents are supported. I met some lovely people, and I got a tour of the home.”
