Jo Platt met with The Travellers Rest pub in Lowton – and Heineken – today, to discuss challenges facing local pubs, breweries and hospitality businesses.
Heineken – the UK’s largest brewer and cider maker – told Jo about the pub industry’s campaign Long Live the Local.
During the visit, Jo also poured her own pint – with direction from the professionals!
Jo said: “It was great to visit The Travellers Rest pub in Lowton. It is one of many amazing pubs that we have within our constituency.
“It’s tough for hospitality businesses at the moment, so it was useful to hear, first-hand, the issues that pubs such as The Travellers Rest are facing and to hear ways that Government could support them. I’d urge everybody to support local businesses, such as The Travellers Rest, where they can.”
