Jo Platt MP for Leigh and Atherton

Leigh and Atherton MP – Jo Platt – attended the launch of High Streets UK this evening.
High Streets UK is a new nationwide partnership of business representatives from the nation’s premier high streets, that are aiming to seek solutions to common challenges faced by these areas across the country – and to unlock opportunities for growth.
Representatives from High Streets across the country – including Birmingham, Belfast, and Leeds – were at the event, as well as stakeholders from some of the country’s biggest retailers, including John Lewis and Boots. Major trade bodies – including the CBI and the British Retail Consortium – were also in attendance.
Jo Platt said: “I’ve made no secret of the fact that I believe that we need to clean up our highstreets. I made a commitment to my constituents – in Leigh and Atherton – to do just that.”
“I think that High Streets UK could do some great work – and I will look forward to seeing how the initiative progresses.”
