Leigh and Atherton MP – Jo Platt – met with the Deputy Prime Minister, Rt Hon Angela Rayner.
The pair came together to discuss planning reform and future funding for the Leigh and Atherton constituency.
The meeting was well timed, as yesterday, The Deputy Prime Minister wrote to local authority leaders, Metro Mayors and chief executives about the government’s plan to build the homes that Britain needs.
Jo Platt said: “The Deputy Prime Minister knows the Leigh and Atherton area well. She has visited on numerous occasions, so when we met to discuss the funding and planning needs for Leigh and Atherton, she knew exactly where I was referring to.
“This new government has pledged to build the homes that Leigh, Atherton – and the wider country – needs. I know that Angela will work hard to drive this plan forward.”
