Today, Jo Platt – the MP for Leigh and Atherton attended an event, that was organised by a group of charities supporting people who are deaf or have hearing loss.
The RNID, British Deaf Association, The National Deaf Children’s Society and SignHealth invited MPs to a meeting, to discuss the best ways of supporting constituents who are deaf, or have hearing loss.
Jo Platt said: “It was great attend this event – that was organised by a number of organisations that are assisting those that are deaf, or living with hearing loss, and to hear about the current issues that the community is facing.”
The Minister for Disabled People – Stephen Timms MP – also spoke at the event.
