Small Business Saturday is a reminder to shop local. Jo Platt – the MP for for Leigh and Atherton – was out supporting businesses in Tyldesley today, as she reminded residents to shop local where they can.

Jo and Councillor Jess Eastoe went to see Jordan, at JLNails in Tyldesley.

Jo Platt said: “It was great to see Jordan at JLNails today. Jordan is the person that some how manages to make my nails look pretty!

“Local businesses like JLNails bring life, character, and connection to our communities. Let’s keep them thriving by shopping small and supporting local every chance we get!”

Labour is committed to supporting small businesses. The Party has pledged to do the following:

  • Raise the limit small businesses start paying national insurance
  • Reform business rates to save small businesses money
  • Tackle retail crime with new funding for prevention and police training
  • Stamp out the late payments that harm small businesses
  • End the Tory policy of not investigating stolen goods under £200
  • Freeze fuel duty to bring down costs for small business
