Jo Platt met up with Lowton East councillors, Wigan Council officers and Graham Wardle – Chair of LENDF Lowton East Neighbourhood Development Forum – today, to discuss junction improvements between the A580 and Newton Road.
The group had a productive and positive meeting about the plan, which will see a dedicated left turn lane added at the junction of Newton Road and the A580 East Lancashire Road. The pedestrian crossing points will be upgraded and repositioned.
Jo Platt said: “It is great to work alongside Councillors in Lowton East, as well as other stakeholders in the community, on this important infrastructure project, which will benefit the whole constituency.
“Myself and the Lowton East councillors would like to thank the Major Projects Team at Wigan Council, who are meeting affected residents this week to discuss the planned works.”
