Jo Platt – the MP for Leigh and Atherton – was invited to meet the Prime Minister today.

Jo visited 10 Downing Street for lunch with Keir Starmer. During the meeting, the pair discussed Leigh and Atherton and the wants and needs of residents.

Jo Platt said: “I met with the Prime Minister today, to talk about my work in Parliament, and to discuss my priorities for Leigh and Atherton. We discussed a range of issues, including town-centre investment, NHS pressures and the ways that we can tackle poverty and make people’s lives better.

“I made Keir Starmer aware of the issues facing residents within my constituency – and told him about the work I’m doing to make life better for local residents.

“Keir visited Leigh after I lost my parliamentary seat in 2019. We spoke then, about what The Labour Party needed to do to regain the trust of Leigh and Atherton residents.

“To be meeting him today, in Number 10, talking about how we are helping residents as a Party in Government, was simply brilliant.”
