On Friday 29 November, Animal Free UK held a drop-in session in Parliament to help raise awareness of Herbie’s Law – the inspiration behind the Animals in Medical Research (Prohibition) Bill. Jo Platt MP attended to find out more.
The Animals in Medical Research (Prohibition) Bill, which is due to have its second reading on Friday 17 January 2025, will help to phase out the use of animals in medical research over the next decade.
Jo Platt, MP for Leigh and Atherton, said: “I was pleased to attend the Animal Free UK – which had been arranged to raise awareness of Herbie’s Law. This is an issue that I, and many of my constituents in Leigh and Atherton, care deeply about.
“Animal testing needs to be stamped out – and I’ll look forward to seeing how the Animals in Medical Research (Prohibition) Bill progresses.”
