Jo Platt MP stands alongside Ministers on White Ribbon Day.

Jo Platt, the MP for Leigh and Atherton, met up with Ministers today to support White Ribbon Day. The initiative is part of Labour’s mission to halve violence against women and girls.

Those supporting White Ribbon Day are encouraging men to hold themselves accountable to women, and to each other, so we can affect positive behaviour change to transform harmful cultures.

Jo Platt said: “We must address the attitudes and behaviours that contribute to a fear of violence for women in their day-to-day lives.

“I am proud to stand alongside Ministers who are determined to halve violence against women and girls.”

Gender equality is key to making this culture change happen. It is achievable, as long as men and boys understand and assume their responsibility as allies.
