Jo Platt, the MP for Leigh and Atherton, met up with NHS England bosses to hear about their plans to handle what is expected to be another challenging Winter.

As part of NHS England’s work to support services, more is being doing to help people to stay well at home.

At the event, which was held in Westminster, Jo was shown some the latest frontline equipment that clinicians will be using in the community to monitor and treat patients. It’s hoped that that less people will then require a trip to hospital.

During the meeting, Jo was able to speak to NHS CEO Amanda Pritchard, as well as NHS England’s wider executive team. The group spoke about this year’s vaccination programme and how it will be imperative to keeping people healthy this Winter.

Jo Platt said: “I attended a meeting with NHS England, to find out how they are treating and monitor patients in the community, so they don’t require a trip to hospital.

“I also heard about this year’s vaccine drive – and I’d urge all of my constituents that are eligible – to get booked in. Getting vaccinated could prevent you from getting seriously ill this Winter.”
