Jo Platt, the MP for Leigh and Atherton, met up with the National Partnership in Early Learning and Childcare (NPELC) in Parliament today, to discuss issues impacting the early learning and childcare sectors.
During the event, Jo spoke to experts from across the childcare sector, that represent the ten largest nursery groups in England. Collectively, this group is caring for over 160,000 babies and young children across 1,355 locations. They are each committed to the importance of early years, and to ensuring that every child is given a fair start in life.
Jo Platt said: “Before entering Parliament, I was Wigan Council’s Cabinet Member for children and young people, so early years is an area of particular interest for me.
“It was great to meet with NPELC today, to hear their insights and how they hope to help shape future policy, to ensure that every child has access to high-quality childcare no matter their postcode or background.”
