Jo Platt – the MP for Leigh and Atherton – paid tribute to the courageous men and women who have served our country today, at Remembrance Sunday events in Leigh, Astley, and Golborne.
Jo Platt said: “Today, I had the honour of attending three Remembrance Services within my constituency of Leigh and Atherton.
“A beautiful service was conducted at each event and I was privileged to lay a wreath in tribute to the courageous men and women who have served our country. Their sacrifice and bravery will never be forgotten. We will remember them.”
Jo also attended a moving Remembrance Day parade, which started on Railway Road, in Leigh. Members of the community, local clergy, local councillors, soldiers and members of the Scout movement marched to the Leigh Cenotaph, where a remembrance service took place. The procession then made their way back to the Town Hall Square where a salute took place.
Other parades took place in Atherton, Golborne, Lowton and Tyldesley.
