Jo Platt meeting the In-FACT team.

The In-FACT team came to Parliament today, to meet with Jo Platt MP, to discuss the National Valproate Campaign.

In-FACT was set up to help people whose disabilities were caused by their mothers taking an Anti Convulsant drug during pregnancy. The group wants those impacted to be supported with the cost of care, welfare, treatment and education to support them with their injuries.

The group also provides long-term support for those affected by Anti Convulsant medications during pregnancy. They work with a wide range of professionals and organisations to raise awareness of Fetal Anti Convulsant Syndrome (FACS) within Government and Health Agencies.

Jo Platt said: “It was a pleasure to welcome In-FACT to Parliament, to discuss their National Valproate Campaign. I’m looking forward to working with them in future, to help them to raise awareness.”

There are plans to set up a All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs), to give  MPs and Peers the space to discuss issues related to Fetal Anti-Convulsant Syndrome.
