Jo Platt – the MP for Leigh and Atherton – is running a Christmas card design competition for primary pupils at schools in the Leigh and Atherton constituency.
Children across the constituency are being asked to get creative and design Jo’s 2024 Christmas card – which this year, is kindly being sponsored by WJ Structures.
The winning image will be printed onto the front of Jo’s Christmas card, which will be sent out to local businesses, charities, community groups and schools across the local area in the lead up to Christmas.
All pupils who participate will be given a certificate to acknowledge involvement in the competition.
Jo Platt said: “I ran a Christmas card competition when I was last in Parliament – and I used to love looking at the designs that came in. The children showed such flare and creativity, so I am thrilled to bring it back. I couldn’t have done it without the support of local business WJ Structures – I’d like to thank them for kindly sponsoring this year’s Christmas card.
“I’ve already been in touch with schools, so please speak to your child’s teacher if your child would like to get involved.
“I’ll be announcing the winning design in person at the beginning of December, when I’ll be attending the school of the winning entry to present a prize to the pupil who submitted the design.”
The deadline for entries is Friday 8 November. Please email Jo (jo.platt.mp@parliament.uk) if you’d like to submit your entry, or if you’d like any further information about the competition.
