The MP for Leigh and Atherton – Jo Platt – visited this week’s veterans brunch at Compassion in Action, to speak to ex-armed forces and Royal British Legion members, that are living within the Leigh and Atherton area.

The brunch is ran by Compassion in Action, every Thursday, from 11am to 1pm, at Patrick House’s Community Café in Leigh.

All veterans are welcome to attend, to enjoy home-cooked food, to have a chat, and to get advice and support.

Jo Platt said: “I had a wonderful time meeting with local veterans today, alongside Councillor Sam Brown. I had some great conversations and the event was really well attended.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to Pam Gilligan and Compassion in Action for organising the weekly veterans’ brunch. It really does make a difference to the veterans living within our community.”

If you’re a veteran and you’d like to attend, call: 01942 262636 to book your place.
