Leigh Works has opened a new co-working space in Leigh and local MP Jo Platt attended the official opening.

This new office space, which has collaborative desk space, software, studios, and workshops for local firms and start-ups to use, is located above Iceland – on Bradshawgate – in Leigh.

This £500,000 project was partly funded by a grant from the Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation (GMVCO), totalling £260,000.

Jo Platt said: “What an incredible achievement this is. The Leigh Works team has put their heart, soul and creativity into this new co-working space on Bradshawgate in Leigh.

“It was a pleasure to attend the official opening and to continue the discussion about supporting local businesses and bringing investment into our towns. I know from my previous job just how much hard work goes into a project like this, and it’s inspiring to see it come to life.”

Phase two of the Leigh Works project will be completed early next year. Further offices and open-plan workspaces will be added, along with meeting pods, breakout spaces, podcast, video and photography studios.
