Thirty three local primary schools are set to benefit from Asda’s new ‘Cashpot for Schools’ initiative.

A total of £7.5m is set to be donated by the supermarket. Shoppers will be able to help raise money for their chosen primary school every time they shop. You simply have to sign up to Asda Rewards app and pick a local school.

Leigh and Atherton MP – Jo Platt – met up with Ava, store manager of the Asda store on Windermere Road in Leigh town centre, to find out more.

Jo said: “I am pleased to have met with Ava to hear how Asda is supporting primary schools across the UK with their new Cashpot for Schools initiative.

“This money will make a huge difference to our local primary schools in Leigh and Atherton. If you’re an Asda shopper, then I’d urge you to sign up to this initiative – your local primary school could benefit by you doing your usual shop.”

So far, £7,024 has been raised for schools within the Leigh and Atherton constituency.
