Jo Platt MP for Leigh and Atherton

Jo Platt, the MP for Leigh and Atherton, met up with EPiC HOPE CIC today, as they launched their ‘Hope In An Envelope’ campaign, ahead of World Suicide Prevention Day and the Month of Hope.
Today, EPiC HOPE CIC met up with Jo Platt and local councillors, to install a purple post box in Leigh Market, as part of the Hope In An Envelope campaign – which aims to give hope to others.
Residents are being asked to post a note, or letter of hope and encouragement. That note will then be passed on to a stranger in need of a positive boost. It’s hoped that the initiative will help to spread hope – and joy – within the community.
Jo Platt said: “EPiC HOPE CIC is a suicide prevention and intervention organisation, serving residents in Leigh and Wigan.
“They have been driving real change in suicide prevention since 2022, and this initiative is a beautiful way to bring our community together.
“I’d like to say a big thanks to our Leigh and Atherton councillors – and Ellie – the inspiring founder behind it all.”
