Jo Platt, Leigh and Atherton’s new MP, met up with local stakeholders and experts today, to discuss the town centre and areas where improvement is desperately needed.
The group, which included Councillors from the wards of Leigh West and Leigh Central and Higher Folds, went on a walk around Leigh town centre. They used the meeting as an opportunity to discuss how they can work together to tackle key issues that are currently blighting the town centre.
Jo Platt said: “During the meeting, we highlighted the good, the bad and the ugly, in order to affect change. It was beneficial taking to the town by foot and seeing some of the issues that residents are struggling with playing out before our eyes.
“Tackling anti-social behaviour and cleaning up our highstreets is at the top of my list of priorities, so it was really beneficial to meet up with the stakeholders and experts that can truly affect change.”
