Jo Platt – the Leigh and Atherton MP – met with Chris Kelly, from Andy’s Man Club.
Andy’s Man Club is a charity that coordinates weekly peer-to-peer support groups for men in the UK. It aims to help and improve mental health in men through self-help peer-to-peer interaction.
The charity organises weekly 2-hour group talking sessions, at 7pm, every Monday (excluding bank holidays) at over 240 venues across the UK. The groups are led by a trained group member known as a facilitator.
Locally, there is a group that takes place at Leigh RUFC (WN7 3NA) and there are plans forĀ expansion elsewhere in the constituency.
Jo Platt said: “It was great to catch up with Andy’s Man Club, to talk about the incredible work they’re doing locally and how I can support their future plans.
“Alongside others – such as ManLeigh – they’re helping to end the stigma surrounding men’s mental health – one conversation at a time.”
