Jo Platt – the MP for Leigh and Atherton – met with Alzheimer’s Research UK in Parliament.
During the event, Jo learnt more about the charity’s work and about the treatment and diagnosis of dementia. She also met people with lived experience of dementia – and learned how we can work together to secure a future free from the harm and heartbreak of this devastating disease.
Nearly 1 million people in the UK are living with dementia, including 1,422 in the Leigh and Atherton constituency alone.
Jo Platt said: “I had a great discussion with the team at Alzheimer’s Research UK on how we can work together to tackle dementia.
“Research, awareness, and prevention are our best hope for stopping dementia in its tracks. I am proud to support Alzheimer’s Research UK in their mission to find a cure.”
